This weekend has been all about watching all kinds of genres and binging on as many episodes and new films as possible. From thrilling shows to nostalgic and unique drama films, a little bit of everything has gone popular this week. Here are some films and series if you are looking for some great OTT picks to add to your must-watch list.
‘Eternity’
Starring Elizabeth Olsen, Callum Turner, and Miles Teller, this unique drama film is about how, after death, souls come to the afterlife waystation called ‘The Junction’. In this place, they revert to the time they were the happiest, and are given one week to choose a version of the afterlife where they wish to spend the rest of their lives. When Olsen’s character arrives, she is faced with the dilemma of choosing her husband, who passed away when they were young, and her husband, whom she remarried and lived a long life with.
‘The Family Plan’
Starring Mark Wahlberg in the leading role as an assassin cum suburban dad. The film revolves around his dangerous life catching up to him as he tries to navigate living in the suburban area. When he is forced to go on the run, he packs up his entire family into a minivan under the guise of an unprompted family trip.
‘The Family Plan 2 ’
A sequel to the previously mentioned film, this time around, the Morgan family ends up in chaos in the middle of London. After retiring, the family plans a trip to London in order to visit their daughter, who is studying in college. However, chaos ensues when he finds out that he has a half-brother named Finn. On top of that, his brother puts him smack dab in the middle of a bank heist as the two of them try to figure out who their mob boss father really was.
‘Propeller One-Way Night Coach ’
In his directorial debut, John Travolta takes inspiration from one of his children’s books that he had published years ago. The premise of the OTT film is set around a mother and son duo who decide to embark on a cross-country trip to Hollywood. In the golden era of aviation, the two initially planned for a plane ride; however, their decision ended up becoming one of the biggest adventures of their lives.
‘F1’
This race drama film set around the F1 racing tournament was released last year, and stars veteran actor Brad Pitt in the leading role. After retiring, a talented F1 driver is approached once more to enter the stadium. This time around, however, he takes on training an overconfident and zealous boy and turns him into an F1 driver before the official release.
‘Outcome’
Released earlier this year, Keanu Reeves’ ‘Outcome’ follows the story of an actor who wishes to make a comeback to the real world. However, when he is threatened by an anonymous person over a mysterious video, he has to set out and do something before his entire image falls apart. Accompanied by his two best friends, he embarks on a road trip in order to find everyone that he has wronged and apologize for his actions to their face, no matter what follows.‘Propeller One-Way Night Coach’, ‘The Family Plan’ and ‘The Family Plan 2’ are available for streaming on Apple TV+, while ‘Eternity’, ‘Outcome’, and ‘F1’ are all streaming on Prime Video.
