Football star David Beckham was honoured with the 2,849th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, marking another milestone in a career that has transcended sport and entered popular culture.Beckham attended the ceremony alongside his wife, Victoria Beckham, and their children Romeo Beckham, Cruz Beckham and Harper Beckham. Notably absent from the event were eldest son Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, actor Nicola Peltz. Without thinking about it, in an instant, he struck the ball with his right foot, sending it soaring 57 yards through the air, beyond the goalkeeper’s reach into the net. The ball was in the air for just three and a half seconds, but that moment has now lived for three decades in the minds of everyone who saw it and in the history of sport,” Cruise said.
