On Friday morning, the 76-year-old Sharat Saxena took to social media to reveal he had completed a major back operation, writing, “6-hour spine surgery – done. CAN’T KEEP A GOOD MAN DOWN.” The post included several photos documenting his hospital stay and eventual discharge. One image shows him resting in bed just after the surgery, smiling with family and friends around him, while another captures him being driven home alongside close ones.

True to his fun-loving image, Saxena added humour to his recovery journey. He has previously revealed that he trains for nearly two hours daily, noting that although a short 20-minute workout would tire him out in his younger days, he later built the stamina to train much longer while still feeling energetic.

Sharat Saxena’s career spans more than 50 years and includes appearances in over 250 films across Hindi and regional cinema. He is widely recognised for his roles in ‘Mr. India’, ‘Tridev’, ‘Ghayal’, ‘Khiladi’, ‘Ghulam’, ‘Gupt: The Hidden Truth’, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’, ‘Baghban’, ‘Fanaa’, ‘Krrish’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘, often playing memorable antagonists.
