Kishore Kumar, regarded as one of the most versatile figures in Indian entertainment, was widely celebrated for his singing style, unique yodelling technique, and ability to adapt across genres. Veteran actor Raza Murad revisited memories from his early years in cinema by opening up about his experience working with legendary singer-actor Kishore Kumar during the making of ‘Door Waadiyon Mein Kahin’.

Raza Murad shared via his social media that a significant portion of the shoot took place in Kashmir. The extended outdoor schedule allowed him to spend considerable time with Kishore Kumar. Recalling a key moment from the shoot, he said, “A dramatic scene from legendary Kishore Kumar production ‘duur wadiyon mein kahin’. Had the privilege of sharing the screen space with the genius, Kishore Kumar for 22 days in Kashmir,”

He further described the on-screen dynamics between the characters. Kishore Kumar portrayed a prisoner, while Raza Murad played a jailor who gradually developed compassion for him. He added, “Kishore kumar had played a jailed prisoner, whereas I played a jailor,who has a soft corner for this convict. This was a memorable experience to know the mysterious, multi talented kishore kumar closely as a person.’ ‘Door Waadiyon Mein Kahin’ was directed, produced, and scored by Kishore Kumar himself. The 1980 film is remembered for its unconventional storytelling style and remains one of Kishore Kumar’s rare directorial ventures.Kishore Kumar passed away in 1987 following a sudden heart attack on his brother Ashok Kumar’s birthday. Raza Murad, now 75, has had a long and diverse career in Indian cinema. Over the decades, he has appeared in numerous notable films including ‘Prem Rog’, ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, ‘Khud-daar’ and many more.
