Actor Ravi Mohan‘s residence in Chennai has become the centre of a theft investigation after valuables reportedly went missing from his house. The case involves the alleged theft of a diamond necklace and cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh from the actor’s home in Injambakkam. Following a police probe, the actor’s driver, Rajesh, has been arrested in connection with the incident. The development attracted attention because the probe moved quickly after the complaint was filed.
Police traced the suspect through inquiry
According to Thanthi TV, Ravi Mohan lodged a complaint with the Neelankarai Police after discovering that a diamond necklace and Rs 2.5 lakh in cash had gone missing from his residence on June 22. Based on the complaint, police registered a CSR and launched an investigation. Officers questioned the staff members and drivers employed at the actor’s house individually. During the inquiry, suspicion reportedly fell on driver Rajesh, leading police to intensify their questioning.
Cash recovered, accused sent to judicial custody
During the investigation, Rajesh allegedly admitted to misappropriating the Rs 2.5 lakh in cash. Police said the money was later returned to Ravi Mohan. Despite the recovery, officials proceeded with legal action against the accused. Neelankarai Police formally arrested Rajesh on theft charges, produced him before a court, and subsequently remanded him to judicial custody. The investigation into the missing diamond necklace is expected to continue as police examine all aspects of the case.
