The review praised its use of YouTube personalities, catchy songs and understanding of its young audience. The review stated, “As in the first film, the YouTube stars are effectively used to give audiences moments to cheer, and there’s enough happening to keep things moving. The catchy songs, meanwhile, supply a steady rush of energy to keep us from dwelling too long on the superficiality of the film’s idea(l)s. But the film’s biggest strength is that it knows exactly what its target audience — youngsters — wants and delivers exactly that: a fun theatrical experience with enough highs to leave them satisfied as they exit the theatre.“
