Three weeks after ‘Love & War’ had officially wrapped, Sanjay Leela Bhansali decided he wasn’t quite finished with it. Reports suggest the filmmaker, known for his exacting standards, wasn’t fully satisfied with how the war sequences turned out, so he’s brought Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal back to set. Bhansali is said to be personally supervising the reshoots to get the battle portions right.
A week-long shoot at Welcome Maidaan
According to Mid-day, Bhansali will spend about a week filming the battle portions at Welcome Maidaan in Goregaon. He is extremely particular about how the war portions come together because they are integral to the film’s scale and emotional arc. Once he saw the material in the edit, he felt certain battle portions could be enhanced further. They are not changing what has already been shot, but are simply perfecting the sequence.Bhansali had already put in extensive shooting time at Royal Palms in Goregaon during ‘Love & War’s’ final schedule. He’s now personally supervising these additional scenes while working on the edit in parallel. There were also reports of the filmmaker planning to shoot one more song for the film, but that idea has reportedly been shelved for now.
Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming project
On the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor’s next release is Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana,’ co-starring Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol. The film is being released as a two-part saga, with the first installment hitting theatres globally this Diwali 2026, and the second part following a year later on Diwali 2027.
