Dolly Parton’s nephew Bryan Seaver, who announced her death last month, has reportedly been fired from his longtime role as head of security for the late singer’s properties. This update comes amid an escalating dispute surrounding the country music icon’s estate.According to TMZ, Seaver and his security companies have been dismissed from all of Parton’s properties. The termination notice, obtained by the publication, states that Seaver’s security duties have come to an end, with replacement guards subsequently taking over security at several of the singer’s properties, including her main Nashville home, museum and warehouse.Seaver and his team have reportedly questioned the move, calling out Parton’s longtime manager Danny Nozell and Pinnacle Bank. In a statement cited by TMZ, they said they were “dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions” taken following the singer’s death. “Still, we remain unshakably resolved to fulfill her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much,” the statement read.The termination letter reportedly states that Dolly’s properties and professional business interests are held by the DP Dean Trust. While Seaver has been removed from his security responsibilities, the document reportedly notes that his personal interest in the trust remains intact.Parton died on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80, following a brief battle with cancer. Her representatives said she died in Nashville after being admitted to Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center several days earlier.The country legend passed away a year after her husband of nearly 59 years, Carl Dean, who died in March 2025. Her death has consequently raised questions about the distribution of her fortune and business empire. Forbes had estimated Parton’s net worth at around USD 450 million, with much of her wealth linked to her stake in Dollywood and her extensive music catalogue.The latest developments also come amid reports that Parton had been concerned about potential disagreements among family members over her estate. An insider quoted by the National Examiner claimed that Parton wanted to ensure her affairs were settled in advance and avoid leaving her family with disputes or legal complications.“She’s a very pragmatic person and the last thing she wants is to leave any sort of mess for her family to deal with,” the source was quoted as saying. “Her worst nightmare is that the people she loves could end up fighting over her estate, so it’s crucial to her that she gets every little thing decided in advance and leaves no room for questions or lawsuits.”
