Malayalam stars Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Khalifa’ and Nivin Pauly’s ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ clashed at the Onam box office as both films hit theatres at the same time. The latest reported numbers show a clear difference in their performances. While Khalifa has seen a decline in collections, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit continues to perform well and shows steady growth at the box office.
‘Khalifa’ collections
According to Sacnilk, ‘Khalifa’ earned an estimated India net collection of Rs 83 lakh on Day 5. The movie screened across 1,245 shows on Monday with an occupancy of 20%.The latest figure shows a 60.5% drop from Monday’s net collection of Rs 2.10 crore.After five days, ‘Khalifa’s total India net collections come to Rs 12.73 crore, while its India gross collections stand at Rs 14.79 crore.The movie also recorded an overseas gross of Rs 16.25 crore. Its worldwide gross currently stands at Rs 31.04 crore.
‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ collections
Meanwhile, Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s latest starrer is enjoying a successful run on the big screens. The film had a much better box office run, minting over Rs 6.90 crore on Monday. The film ran across 1,825 shows with an occupancy of 64%.The latest numbers show Monday’s collection had a 21.6% drop from Sunday’s net collection of Rs 8.80 crore.The film’s total net collections in India come to Rs 27.75 crore, while the total India gross collections stand at Rs 32.40 crore.‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ enjoys an overseas collection of Rs 44 crore, bringing the worldwide gross collection to Rs 76.40 crore.
Occupancy of the films
Speaking of occupancy, ‘Khalifa’ had a total occupancy of 16.55%. It began its day with morning shows at 6.00%. Later, the numbers increased with afternoon shows recording 11.92% occupancy and evening shows showing a slight increase to 12.42%. The night shows later had the biggest share with 25.00%.Meanwhile, Nivin Pauly’s ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ had an overall occupancy of 56.27%. It saw a solid beginning with the morning shows at 44.25%.
