Malayalam actress Anumol has opened up about her decision to remain single, saying she is content with where she is in life. The actress revealed that she enjoys her independence and currently has no desire to share her personal space with another person.During an appearance on the ‘Isn’t It Lovely’ podcast, the actress opened up on relationships, marriage and the importance of emotional comfort. She explained that, at this stage of her life, being single has brought her happiness and peace of mind.
Anumol says she is productive and happy
Speaking about her current phase of life, Anumol said she has no regrets about remaining single. She also revealed that she had once been in a relationship, but it eventually came to an end.She said, “I’m productive and happy because I’m single. I did try being in a relationship, but it didn’t work out. People back home used to keep asking me when I was getting married. I think they’ve now realised that I may never get married. Even so, whenever someone asks me about marriage, I jokingly tell them, ‘Find me a good man, and if you’re also willing to bear the wedding expenses, I’ll get married.'”
Why sharing personal space feels difficult
Anumol also explained why the thought of living with someone else currently feels overwhelming. She said she values solitude and often needs time by herself to recharge after spending several days with friends.Sharing her thoughts, she said, “Right now, the idea of sharing my personal space with another person is very difficult for me. Even if I spend five or six days with my close friends, I start feeling suffocated. After that, I need to go to a café by myself, sit alone with a cup of coffee, and recharge. If that’s how I am, how can I suddenly share my bedroom, kitchen, bathroom or even my couch with someone else?” According to the actress, independence has become an important part of her personality. She believes it would take a significant adjustment to completely change that lifestyle.
Anumol’s definition of love may change with time
While she is happy with her present life, Anumol did not rule out the possibility that her views could evolve in the future.She said, “I’ve lived independently for so long that I don’t know how such a sudden change would work in my life. Maybe, as I grow older and become more mature, my definition of love itself might change.”
Marriage now means something different
Anumol also revealed that her idea of marriage has changed over the years.She said, “Earlier when I thought about marriage I imagined a grand celebration with a sari, jasmine flowers and lots of guests. But now I tell my sister that if I ever get married, I’d rather have a small celebration with just the people who truly love us. That’s enough for me.”Anumol is known for her performances in Malayalam films such as ‘Ivan Megharoopan’, ‘Jamna Pyari’, and ‘Padmini’. Anumol has also won appreciation for her work in the Tamil web series ‘Ayali’ and ‘Heartbeat’.
