TRIGGER WARNING: This article includes references to sexual abuse and rape. British rapper and social media personality Yung Filly has been acquitted of allegations of choking and raping a young fan after a September 2024 concert in Perth. The 30-year-old faced an eight-day trial in the Western Australian District Court, and the jury deemed him not guilty. However, he was convicted of two counts of bodily harm to the then-20-year-old fan, relating to bites.

Yung Filly acquitted of charges

The YouTuber was charged with six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault and one count of strangulation, according to the Associated Press. The jury has not yet decided on three other counts of rape, for which he could face a retrial. For the two counts of assault, the entertainer denied pleading guilty, suggested those were ‘love bites,’ and claimed the victim had not complained to him about being hurt. Despite the convictions, the musician is free on bail until the case returns to court on August 21, 2026, to discuss further sentencing dates.

Yung Filly revealed he ‘fancied’ the young woman

During the trial, Yung Filly revealed that he fancied the young woman when they met at the venue, per the BBC. The rapper, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was in the VIP area when she leaned over the barrier from the general area. “I recall putting my hand on her waist,” he told the court, denying he touched her inappropriately. The musician mentioned the ‘vibes’ between them were good when they arrived at the hotel. However, the security guard took her phone as per their standard protocol. Prosecutors alleged the pair agreed to consensual intercourse, but the woman later firmly denied it after fearing for her safety. The photos of the bruising from bites were shown in court. Barrientos has been free on bail since he was charged and was allowed to travel to the United Kingdom for several months.DISCLAIMER: If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, assault, or abuse, please seek immediate help.
