Vishal is entering a new phase of his career with ‘Magudam,’ taking on the responsibility of both acting and direction. The film has already created interest with its trailer, multiple characters, and large-scale action sequences. At the trailer launch event, Vishal spoke about his expectations for the film and also shared his admiration for Vijay, a moment that quickly caught the attention of fans and cinema followers.

Speaking at the ‘Magudam’ trailer launch, Vishal recalled watching Vijay’s films in theatres and said he now wants audiences to experience the same excitement with his directorial debut. “Vijay is my favourite actor. He is now the Chief Minister. Just like I enjoyed watching his films in theatres, I want the audience to watch and enjoy my film in theatres as well,” Vishal said as reported by Dinamalar.The actor-director also spoke about the film’s climax and revealed that the team had worked hard to create something special. “We tried to do something magical for the last eight minutes of the film. I am looking forward to watching it at the same Rohini Theatre where I clapped for my favourite actor Vijay, who is now the CM. I am waiting to see how the audience reacts and applauds for those scenes,” he added. His comments about Vijay have since become a talking point among fans on social media.

Vishal talks about ‘Magudam’ climax and GV Prakash Kumar

Vishal also acknowledged the contribution of the technical team behind ‘Magudam.’ He praised music composer GV Prakash Kumar and said the composer understood the requirements of a first-time director. “For new directors, GV Prakash is a blessing. He has no ego and understands what a director needs. He works according to the vision of the director and delivers it beautifully,” Vishal said.The filmmaker also credited lyricist Uma Devi and choreographer Dileep for their contribution to the movie. The climax has been one of the major talking points in the film’s promotions. Earlier, the makers revealed that around 100 stunt performers and 800 crew members were involved in shooting an intense sequence, adding to the curiosity surrounding the final portions of the film.

‘Magudam’ cast, story and August 14 release

Magudam marks Vishal’s directorial debut, and the actor plays three different characters in the movie, including a medical representative, a man working at a shipping harbour in Visakhapatnam and the powerful Linga. Anjali and Dushara Vijayan play the female leads, while Jayaprakash, John Vijay, Ajay, Vamsi Krishna, Abu Salim, Arjai and others appear in supporting roles.GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, while NB Srikanth handles the editing and G Durairaj is the art director. Pon Parthiban has penned the dialogues, with Anandh Kumaresan and Rajesh A Moorthy handling the Tamil and Telugu versions respectively. ‘Magudam’ is scheduled to release in theatres on August 14 in Tamil and Telugu as ‘Makutam.’ The film will face competition from Suriya’s ‘Vishwanath & Sons,’ making the Independence Day weekend an important test for Vishal’s first outing as a director.
