As the much-anticipated film ‘Pralay’ went on floors, actress Kalyani Priyadarshan shared her excitement about the upcoming project whcih will see her starring opposite Ranveer Singh in the lead.Filming for the alleged zombie apocalypse reportedly began on Sunday, with the makers posting an official announcement. Replying to producer Ananya Birla’s post about the film commencing its shoot, the actress wrote in the comments, “Time to go make a film that we’re all going to be so proud of.“

Kalyani shares her excitement for ‘Pralay’

‘Pralay’ features Kalyani, known for her role in ‘Lokah’, as the female lead, opposite Ranveer. Touted to be an action-packed zombie apocalypse thriller, the film is being directed by Jai Mehta, who previously worked on ‘Lootere’ and co-directed ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ with Hansal Mehta.

Ranveer Singh begins ‘Pralay’ shoot in Mumbai

Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, the film is described as a survival thriller centred on an impending end-of-the-world catastrophe. The film is being shot at live locations across Mumbai and the surrounding areas after the makers decided to scrap the Australia schedule.With Singh coming off the success of ‘Dhurandhar’, all eyes are now on ‘Pralay’ to see if it can match the hype, anticipation and box office success of the spy action film.

Ranveer Singh to welcome second child with Deepika Padukone

Meanwhile, Singh and his wife, actress Deepika Padukone, are preparing to welcome their second child. The couple announced their pregnancy in April this year and are expected to welcome the little one later this year. As per reports the actor is planning to take a paternity break in November after wrapping up the first shooting schedule before Diwali. The actor, who will embrace fatherhood for the second time, reportedly intends to step away temporarily to support his family, and begin the next leg of shoots in 2027.
