Now, the next upcoming project seems to be ‘Tangled,’ following the story of a girl stuck in a tower since she was a baby. The first look for the live-action adaptation of the animated film, which was originally released in 2010, was recently shared during the D23 Expo event.
First look of ‘Tangled’ live-action shared with the world
Fans and attendees who were at the D23 Expo caught a glimpse of the live-action adaptation of ‘Tangled.’ The teaser showed the cast in their element in the film, which has been adapted from the popular Brothers Grimm fairy tale, the same as the animated feature.The official cast for the live-action film includes Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel, Patrick and Hugo McPherson as the Stabbington brothers, and Diego Luna; however, no details about his role have been shared with the public yet.The cast members also got up on stage at the Expo event, reported Variety, and discussed their respective roles and experiences so far. “I love playing Mother Gothel. She’s stunning, hilarious, fab, kind, and generous to a fault. Might be overprotective, but that’s because she cares so much.” Hahn admitted as the crowd cheered her on.

Michael Gracey is attached to direct the project, with films like ‘Better Man,’ ‘Rocketman,’ ‘The Greatest Showman,’ and ‘G’Day’ already under his belt. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Michael Montemayor wrote the screenplay for the film. The filming for the movie began earlier this year in June. Fans and netizens alike have been sharing leaked clips of the cast on social media platforms for the past couple of weeks.Reports for the live-action film first surfaced in 2024; however, following the box office failure of the ‘Snow White’ live-action adaptation, the project was officially shelved at the time. However, after much debate, the film was picked up yet again, and the production began. The original ‘Tangled’ from 2010 was a massive box office hit, earning USD 592 million at the global box office, according to Sacnilk data. Actress Mandy Moore voiced Rapunzel, while Flynn Rider was voiced by Zachary Levi. The story follows Rapunzel, a girl with magic hair trapped in a high tower by her mother. However, when a charming thief comes along, she finally experiences the outside world that she has been waiting for her whole life. On their adventure, the two discover quite a lot of secrets, including what really happened to her, along with her true identity.
