Even before its release, Nitesh Tiwari‘s ambitious mythological epic ‘Ramayana’ continues to dominate headlines. Featuring an ensemble cast led by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey, the film has emerged as one of the most anticipated releases of 2026. Now, the makers are reportedly reviving plans for an extravagant overseas premiere that had previously been shelved. As stated by News18, reports suggest that discussions surrounding an international launch event have resumed, with Dubai once again emerging as the preferred destination for the film’s grand unveiling.

Dubai premiere back on the cards

The production team, led by director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, is said to be actively exploring the possibility of hosting a large-scale premiere in the UAE. Earlier this year, the proposal had reportedly been paused due to geopolitical tensions across West Asia. However, with the situation believed to have stabilised following recent diplomatic developments between the United States and Iran, the makers have restarted conversations about taking ‘Ramayana’ to Dubai for a spectacular launch.Internally, the event is reportedly being referred to as the “Desert Premiere,” with October 28 currently being considered as the tentative date.

Location scouting already underway for ‘Ramayana’

Preparations for the proposed event have reportedly begun, with multiple venues across Dubai being evaluated for the high-profile premiere. If the plans materialise, the event is expected to bring together the film’s principal cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, who are likely to attend the celebration alongside the filmmakers.A source told Mid-Day, “In April, the idea was put on hold because the timing didn’t feel right. Now that the situation has eased considerably, the team is again exploring the feasibility of taking ‘Ramayana’ to Dubai. The city was always the preferred choice because of its ability to stage large-scale events and the Indian diaspora.”

A star-studded retelling of the epic

Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ boasts one of the biggest ensemble casts assembled for an Indian film. Ranbir Kapoor will portray Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi steps into the role of Sita. Kannada superstar Yash takes on the role of Ravana, and Sunny Deol will be seen playing Lord Hanuman. Ravi Dubey is also part of the much-awaited mythological drama in a pivotal role.Ever since the project was announced, every update, from casting announcements and behind-the-scenes glimpses to production milestones, has generated tremendous excitement among audiences.Backed by Namit Malhotra, ‘Ramayana’ is mounted on a massive scale and is scheduled to arrive in cinemas during Diwali 2026. If the reported Dubai event goes ahead as planned, it could become one of the biggest international premieres ever organised for an Indian film.
