Ramayana Trailer Release Live Updates: Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra gear up to unveil trailer at San Diego Comic-Con

The wait for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana trailer is almost over. Ahead of its worldwide release on July 24, the film is all set to make a grand debut at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), where the makers will unveil the highly anticipated trailer to an international audience. Adding to the excitement, Ranbir Kapoor and Yash were spotted leaving Mumbai on Wednesday as they headed to San Diego for the prestigious pop culture event.

The Ramayana panel is scheduled for Thursday at 3:15 PM PDT in the iconic Ballroom 20, which can accommodate around 4,800 attendees. Hosted by entertainment journalist Coy Jandreau, the session will feature Ranbir, Yash, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra.

Apart from discussing the film’s ambitious vision, large-scale production, character journeys and its adaptation of the ancient Indian epic for a global audience, the team is also expected to unveil exclusive footage before premiering the official trailer.

According to the Comic-Con schedule, the presentation will take place between 3:15 AM and 4:15 AM IST on July 24, making it the first public showcase of the film’s footage.

However, fans in India may have to wait a little longer to watch the trailer.

A screenshot shared online from PVR Pictures’ official social media handle suggests the trailer will release at 10 AM IST on July 24 across digital platforms and cinemas. At the same time, several online reports claim the launch could happen as early as 8 AM IST. The makers, however, have only confirmed the release date and are yet to announce the official time.

The Comic-Con presentation is also expected to feature a specially created English-dubbed version of the trailer. According to the production team, it uses AI-assisted lip-sync technology, enabling the actors’ lip movements to match the English dialogue naturally as part of the film’s international release strategy.

The official SDCC synopsis reads: “In an age of gods and kings, the fate of worlds hangs in the balance. Rama, a prince bound by duty, sacrifice and the greater good, must face Ravana, an immortal ruler driven by pride and vengeance, powerful enough to shatter the cosmos.”

The mythological epic features one of Indian cinema’s biggest ensembles. Ranbir Kapoor stars as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Yash essays Ravana, Sunny Deol appears as Lord Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey takes on the role of Lakshman.

The supporting cast includes Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, Adinath Kothare as Bharata, while Anupam Kher lends his voice to Jatayu.

While Ramayana is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, industry reports suggest the film could arrive in cinemas on November 8, with the official release date expected to be revealed in the trailer.
