Sachin Tendulkar turned 53 this Friday, and wishes have poured in from fans and celebrities across fields, including cinema. The Malayalam actor, who has long admired Sachin, once recalled how a chance flight encounter with the batting icon became a memory he would keep for life.

According to Cinema Express, Prithviraj once shared the story at an event. The actor said he met Sachin Tendulkar during a flight journey and felt stunned when the cricketer took the seat next to him.“When I boarded the flight, Sachin sat right next to me as the last passenger. I am a die-hard fan of Sachin. When he sat adjacent to me, I did not know what to tell him and felt clueless,” Prithviraj said.The actor added that another passenger sitting behind him asked for Sachin’s autograph on the cricketer’s autobiography. That moment helped Prithviraj start a conversation with his idol.“By God’s grace, when that passenger got his signature, Sachin turned towards me and said, ‘That is my biography’. I told him, ‘I know sir. I just finished reading it early this morning,’” Prithviraj recalled.

The conversation did not end there. Prithviraj said Sachin spoke to him until the flight landed in Mumbai. The actor admitted that the moment stayed with him even though Sachin likely does not remember it now.“Then, Sachin Tendulkar spoke to me until the flight landed in Mumbai. I am 100 per cent sure that Sachin might not remember our interaction today, but I could not forget it for the rest for my life,” he said.Prithviraj later met Sachin again in the United Kingdom while shooting his film ‘Adam Joan’. He shared the moment on social media and wrote, “I believe in God because I have seen him.. many times!”Sachin also has a strong Kerala connection. He once owned Kerala Blasters, whose brand ambassador was Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly.
