Actress Brenda Fricker, best known for her role in ‘Home Alone 2’ alongside Macaulay Culkin, has passed away. Some of her other roles over the years also included ‘Seekers’, ‘So I Married An Axe Murderer’, ‘Casualty’, and ‘My Left Foot.’
Brenda Fricker passes away at 81
Brenda Fricker passed away at the age of 81 in her home in her home all the way in Dublin. She left for her heavenly abode on July 16, as confirmed by her longtime agency, Phil Belfield. BBC reported that Belfield shared that “We will never see her like again and the world is lesser for the lack of her. I was honoured to know, love and work with her, and she will always have a place in my heart and in the heart of so many film and TV fans the world over.“Soon after the news of her passing broke, tributes and well wishes began pouring in. Her co-star from ‘Casualty’, Derek Thompson, issued a statement and said, “Truly the best I have ever worked with, and I’ve worked with a lot of actors”, while Cathy Shipton from the same show shared, “She lived her life courageously, warts and all. I loved her for her wit, her intelligence and her brilliant sense of humour. Life happened when you were around Brenda. We shared a love of dogs – collie, and my girl Juno is named after her favourite collie. I love her and miss her and am so glad l knew her.” Tánaiste Simon Harris also paid his respects and called her a “national treasure.”At the time of writing, her agent did not share any information about how she passed away.
