Matt Damon reveals which role he missed out on

During his chat with GQ in one of his latest interviews, the actor opened up about the one role that he still regrets passing over even after all of these years. The actor revealed that he was one of the stars who had been considered for the leading role in the film ‘Ted.’ While the role went to actor Market Wharlberg, Damon shared that he had the script in his hands; however, he got too cocky over the matter. He commented, “I don’t want to live with the regret, but I can tell you that I passed on ‘Ted,’ and I’ve never had this experience where I laughed so hard reading a script. I literally took it to dinner and was reading parts of it out to my friends at dinner. And then I just got too clever by half. I don’t know what I was thinking. I was like, ‘Well, maybe the teddy bear’s actually the best part.’”Matt Damon says he also missed out on the chance to stay with his family for some timeDuring the interview, Damon also revealed that another major reason why he regrets not filming ‘Ted,’ which includes his family. The actor has his roots in Boston, and a lot of his family members do too, and since ‘Ted’ was also being filmed in Boston, he would have gotten some time with his family along with the shoot.“So I overthought it, and I talked myself out of it. And because it shot in Boston, it would’ve been a chance for me to be home—my father’s passed away now, and I look back and I go, “Man, that would’ve been six months back [home],” he commented. However, the actor did conclude by adding that despite all of his regret because of the role, the star still believed that the film’s trajectory turned out to be great.“But, again, the right actor got the part. Mark [Wahlberg’s] is great, and the movie’s great, and I wouldn’t have made it any better,” he added. On the work frontier, Damon last appeared on the big screen in the classic retelling film from Christopher Nolan, ‘The Odyssey,’ alongside Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Mia Goth, Elliot Page, Travis Scott, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, and Samantha Morton, to name a few.
