For actor and television personality Jaaved Jaaferi, home has always meant Bandra. The actor recently opened the doors of his over 7,000-square-foot sea-facing apartment, walking Architectural Digest through a space that reflects both his personal history and his family’s evolving needs. Designed by Kush Bhayani of KULx Studio, the home leans into a warm, Mediterranean aesthetic while weaving in decades of memories from Jaaved’s life in the suburb.
Jaaved Jafferi’s return to Bandra, rooted in nostalgia
Jaaved’s move back to Bandra wasn’t just about the address but was deeply personal. “I’ve been a Bandra boy all my life; I was here for 40 years,” Jaaved shares, recalling how he split his childhood and early years between his first two homes in the suburb before eventually moving to Lokhandwala with his children.The decision to return was also influenced by his elder children, Meezaan and Alaviaa. While Jaaved once found Bandra’s dense construction overwhelming, this particular apartment changed his mind instantly. His brief to designer Kush Bhayani was simple: minimal sophistication, described in three words — “Warm, natural, eclectic.”The new residence consequently became a way of reconnecting with familiar surroundings while creating a contemporary family home.
What does Jaaved Jafferi’s home look like?
Overlooking the Arabian Sea, the apartment is designed around earthy, sunbaked tones that give it an instantly calming quality. The living room is anchored by a sage-toned two-sided sofa, while plush, earth-toned furnishings and pops of green create a soothing, lived-in atmosphere. The interiors draw heavily from Mediterranean influences, with earthy shades and natural materials running throughout the apartment. The expansive living room features plush, earth-toned furnishings, complemented by green accents that give the space a calm and soothing character.Textured micro-concrete walls run through the entire home, a detail the whole family agrees on. Patterned rugs, cured wood logs and translucent stone surfaces add to the eclectic, rustic-meets-modern feel, while a cosy reading nook with a built-in bookshelf houses artefacts from the family’s travels and an extensive DVD collection.
The dining table and family spaces at Jaaved Jafferi’s home
One addition the family was especially keen on was a proper dining table, something increasingly rare in homes shaped by social media and OTT habits. Meezaan explains the shift it’s brought about at home, noting that everyone now gathers to eat together instead of retreating to their rooms with their meals. The dining area features a sleek onyx slab table supported by wooden logs, paired with upholstered chairs, and lit by bespoke sculptural fabric pendant lamps.A long terrace serves as another favourite spot, where two generations of the family come together to talk and unwind. Alaviaa’s room, meanwhile, stands out with rust-maroon and colourful accents against the home’s earthy base, including a statement chair and a sinuous mirror.
A reading nook filled with family memories
The apartment also makes space for Jaaved’s love of nostalgia. A cosy reading corner incorporates a built-in bookshelf filled with artefacts collected during the family’s travels, along with an extensive DVD collection. Objects bearing personal significance have been integrated into the interiors. The family’s shared history is similarly reflected in Meezaan’s collection of CDs, featuring artists such as Don McLean and Fleetwood Mac. The collection was gifted to him by his father.
The terrace overlooking the Arabian Sea
The home’s terrace provides perhaps its most striking setting. Stretching along the apartment, it offers the family an open space to unwind, converse and spend time together while looking out towards the Arabian Sea. For Jaaved, the terrace and the home as a whole represent a connection between different stages of his life, his childhood in Bandra, his years as a performer and his present life surrounded by his children.

On the professional front, Jaaved Jaaferi has had a busy run through 2025 and 2026. He featured in the psychological thriller ‘Mayasabha – The Hall of Illusion’, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, which released in theatres on January 30, 2026. He also appeared in ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ and ‘Inn Galiyon Mein’. Most recently, Jaaved returned to the comedy franchise that made him a household name with ‘Dhamaal 4’, reuniting with Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Mishra, which released around Eid 2026. He also has projects including ‘Love & War’ and ‘Hera Pheri 3’ in various stages of production.
