Gold, silver price prediction: Will gold continue to be under pressure? Check outlook on September 24, 2026
On the upside, 155,000 is the crucial resistance level to breach & a sustained move above that level should negate the bearish bias.

Gold and silver price prediction today: Gold and silver prices are on the back foot and the downward pressure is expected to continue in the near-term, says Abhilash Koikkara, Head – Forex & Commodities, Nuvama Professional Clients Group. Let’s take a look at his outlook:

MCX Gold Price Outlook

MCX Gold looks set to stay on the back foot in the coming sessions, the weekly price structure continues to drift lower, reinforcing a sideways to bearish momentum. Sellers remain in control, and the market is likely to stay directionless until the ongoing consolidation is breached with a decisive move.Prices are expected to stay within a range in the near term, however the recent reversal from the 154,000 signals that an intermediate bearish move is in place. On the downside, 148,000 is an important support to hold & a sustained break below the mentioned level could extend the decline toward the 144,000–140,000 zone.On the upside, 155,000 is the crucial resistance level to breach & a sustained move above that level should negate the bearish bias and signal a continuation of the bullish move. A sustained daily close above 155,000 would confirm that buyers have firmly resumed control and the bullish move is back in place.Gold has started off the week, trading with lower lows and taking out the previous week’s low, a move that keeps the weekly trend leaning toward further correction. With momentum staying on the negative side, gold looks well-placed to extend its corrective move through the sessions ahead.

MCX Gold Trading Strategy

  • CMP: Rs 151,300
  • Target: Rs 144,000
  • Stop Loss: Rs 155,000

MCX Silver Price Outlook

Silver finds itself in a similar position to gold, and is likely to remain under pressure in the coming sessions. The overall technical outlook remains weak, momentum indicators are aligned to the downside, and the short-term bias stays negative. The current consolidation phase has kept prices rangebound without offering a clear directional signal, and a decisive break from this range in either direction should be the key trigger that determines the next meaningful move.Following the recent pullback from the highs, the 225,000 level stands out as the key support for the week and should limit any further downside. The near-term technical outlook stays sideways to bearish as long as prices hold above this floor. On the upside, 245,000 is the immediate resistance, with 248,000 as the next barrier beyond that. A move above 248,000 would confirm the bullish bias and keep the momentum alive, but for now, technicals and momentum are both pointing toward the corrective phase continuing. Prices are expected to work their way toward the 225,000 support level & staying above that floor keeps the trend in the corrective phase.

MCX Silver Trading Strategy

  • CMP: Rs 234,600
  • Target: Rs 225,000
  • Stop Loss: Rs 244,000
