The final season of ‘Outer Banks’ has brought about a lot of emotional feelings for the cast as they finally bid adieu to their characters. The sibling duo from ‘Outer Banks’ recently opened up about what it was like to film their final scenes for the show. While talking to PEOPLE, Starkey commented, “In that moment, it felt like I was saying goodbye to one of my sisters. It felt like I was saying goodbye to her.”The duo does not get the kind of conclusion that many people wanted. Since Rafe and Sofia are still wanted, they flee Kildare together; however, not before he leaves a final goodbye for his sister, saying, “I’m sorry for everything that happened. I really am, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to come back here again, so I’m not going to be able to see your baby.”Starkey and Cline both confirmed that the final scene was one of the hardest ones for them to film, as they teared up quite a bit on set. Starkey also added, “It felt very honest. I love Maddie, and Maddie and I have been through a lot together. I mean, God, I’ve loved working with Maddie. I’ve loved our friendship. So yeah, that moment felt very much like Drew and Madelyn saying goodbye to each other.”He further admitted that he cried a lot at the final scene and was pretty emotional over the show’s ending. He added, “Our showrunners and our UPM [unit production manager] crafted it in a way where everyone would be on set together for that last day, and we had our whole crew out there,” he remembers. “Really, I think it was just seeing all these faces that I’d seen almost every day for the better part of seven years, and the realization that it was coming to an end was incredibly overwhelming.”Fans can watch all five seasons of ‘Outer Banks’ on Netflix.
