In an old interview from 1997 with the Chicago Tribune, the singer shared details about how she was offered the role of a lifetime; however, she simply could not say yes to it.During the interview, she commented, “I will not play just an evil part. In fact, I got offered USD 7 million several years ago to play the part that Faye Dunaway played in Supergirl. I was kind of insulted. I was impressed with the money, but I said, ‘Why are you asking me to play an evil witch? Do I come across as an evil witch to you?’”The singer further commented on how she did not have any desire to play this kind of role, adding, “I’m sure I can be an evil witch at times. But that’s not my real nature, and I don’t have a desire to do anything like that.”For context, Parton was talking about being offered a role in the 1984 film ‘Supergirl,’ which was directed by Jeannot Szwarc and starred names like Helen Slater, Peter O’Toole, Hart Bochner, Brenda Vaccaro, and Mia Farrow, to name a few.
