Mahesh Babu completed his schooling at the institution, where Karthi was also a student around the same period as per a report by Deccan Herald.Meanwhile, a report by Amar Ujala suggests that back in 2024 Karthi himself confirmed that he and Mahesh Babu were classmates during their school days in Chennai. During the same conversation he spoke that he would love to work with him if the right story and opportunity presented itself.Mahesh Babu is two years older than Karthi, making the ‘Guntur Kaaram’ star his senior during their school days. Their shared educational background is an interesting connection between two of South Indian cinema’s biggest stars, who eventually carved successful careers in different film industries.

‘Sardar 2’, directed by PS Mithran, sees Karthi return to his dual role as Vijay Prakash and his father Chandrabose. The sequel expands the spy-action universe established by the 2022 film ‘Sardar’ and takes the story forward on a larger scale. The film also stars SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, Rajisha Vijayan, Ashika Ranganath and Yogi Babu in important roles. The first instalment followed Vijay Prakash, a police officer attempting to establish his own identity while living under the shadow of his father, Chandrabose. The sequel builds on that story and explores a new chapter in Chandrabose’s world.
Mahesh Babu’s next is SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is gearing up for one of his most anticipated projects, ‘Varanasi’, directed by SS Rajamouli. The time-travelling action adventure stars Mahesh Babu as Rudhra, with Priyanka Chopra Jonas playing Mandakini and Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran portraying the antagonist Kumbha. The film is expected to explore multiple timelines and blend elements of science fiction, action and adventure. ‘Varanasi’ also marks Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ return to Indian cinema after an extended gap.The film is scheduled to release worldwide in theatres on April 7, 2027.
