Vijayalakshmi Darshan, wife of jailed Kannada superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa, issued a detailed statement dismissing viral social media rumours claiming their son, Vineesh, was hospitalised following a major car accident in Bengaluru. Clarifying the incident in Rajarajeshwari Nagar involving their Ford Endeavour, Vijayalakshmi confirmed that Vineesh is entirely safe, was not behind the wheel, and merely stepped out to check on a two-wheeler after a minor traffic collision. With the family already under intense public scrutiny, Bengaluru Police have also stepped in to confirm that no official case or complaint has been registered regarding the minor road mishap.

Minor road incident sparked rumours

The speculation reportedly began after a minor collision involving a Ford Endeavour associated with Vineesh was reported in Bengaluru. The vehicle was said to have been involved in a minor road incident with a two-wheeler. As videos and claims related to the incident spread online, confusion grew over Vineesh’s role in the accident.

Vijayalakshmi Darshan shares detailed statement

According to TOI City reports, Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi Darshan, released a detailed statement. She clarified in the statement that Vineesh was neither injured nor driving the vehicle when the accident happened. She said, “We would like to clarify that the news being circulated by certain media outlets claiming that Vinish met with an accident and has been hospitalized is completely false. Vinish is absolutely safe and doing well. He was not driving the vehicle; as is usually the case, our driver was behind the wheel. A minor road incident occurred, which, unfortunately, is not uncommon in Bengaluru traffic. The other party involved acknowledged that it was their mistake and even apologized. Vinish merely stepped out of the vehicle to ensure that the people on the bike were safe. Unfortunately those few moments have been taken out of context and presented in a completely misleading manner.”Darshan’s wife added, “As a family we are already going through a difficult time, and the spread of such unverified and sensationalized news only adds to our pain and anxiety. We sincerely request everyone, especially media organizations, to verify facts before publishing or broadcasting information that can cause unnecessary distress to individuals and their families. We also request everyone not to believe or share these false reports.“

Police confirm no case has been registered

As reported by Money Control, police have stated that no case has been registered in connection with the reported road incident. On the professional front, Darshan Thoogudeepa was last seen in ‘The Devil: The Hero’ which is a Kannada political action thriller directed by Prakash Veer.
