Athletics brings a packed medal session
Athletics will be one of the main attractions, with several finals lined up through the afternoon.
Dev Kumar Meena and Kuldeep Kumar will compete in the men’s pole vault final at 2:50 PM.
Pooja and Supriya Basavaraju will contest the women’s high jump final at 3:35 PM.
Anushka Yadav and Tanya Chaudhary will compete in the women’s hammer throw final at 4:05 PM.
Gowthami Jayaraman and Pooja will line up in the women’s 800m final, while Mohammed Afsal will contest the men’s final.
Gulveer Singh and Avinash Sable will compete in the men’s 5000m final at 4:45 PM.
Three boxing semifinals offer medal chances
India will have three boxers in semifinal action, with all three contests carrying medal stakes.
Parveen will face China’s Li Shu in the women’s 65kg semifinal at 10:15 AM.
Ankush Panghal will take on Uzbekistan’s Fazliddin Erkinboev in the men’s 80kg semifinal at 11 AM.
Narender will meet Kazakhstan’s Aibek Oralbay in the men’s +90kg semifinal at 11:30 AM.
Shooting targets more medals
Indian shooters will compete in the men’s and women’s trap events, with qualification and team finals beginning at 6:30 AM.
Shapath Bharadwaj, Kynan Chenai and Ahvar Rizvi will compete in the men’s trap event.
Neeru, Manisha Keer and Aashima Ahlawat will compete in the women’s trap event.
The individual finals will be held later in the morning if Indian shooters qualify.
Relay teams round off athletics action
The evening will feature three relay finals involving India.
India will compete in the mixed 4x100m relay final at 5:18 PM.
The women’s 4x400m relay final will take place at 5:35 PM.
India’s men will contest the 4x400m relay final at 5:47 PM.
Archery, tennis and team sports also in action
India’s schedule will begin early, with Kishore Kumar Anbarasu facing the Philippines’ Toby Espejon in the men’s shortboard surfing quarterfinal at 4:54 AM.
Dhiraj Bommadevara and Neeraj Chauhan will compete in the men’s recurve elimination round, while Kirti and Kumkum Mohod will feature in the women’s recurve individual event.
In tennis, Dhakshineswar Suresh, Sumit Nagal and several Indian doubles teams will be in action. India will also face Iran in women’s team squash and Qatar in men’s volleyball.
