AR Rahman’s son and singer AR Ameen was involved in a car accident in Chennai on Monday morning. His sister Khatija Rahman has now shared an update on his health, assuring fans that Ameen is safe and doing fine while also clarifying details surrounding the accident.Khatija took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to thank fans and well-wishers for their concern following reports of Ameen’s accident. She also sought to correct what she described as inaccurate information circulating about the incident.“Thank you so much for all your wishes, prayers, and concern. Ameen is safe and doing fine by God’s grace,” Khatija wrote.She went on to explain that Ameen was travelling to the airport and was seated in the passenger seat while his friend was driving.

According to Khatija, the accident occurred after a driver in another vehicle moved forward despite a red signal.“Ameen was on his way to the airport, seated in the passenger seat, while his friend was driving,” she said.“A driver in another vehicle ahead of them moved forward despite the signal being red, which resulted in a minor collision.”Khatija added that Ameen, his friend and the occupant of the other vehicle were all safe.“By God’s grace, Ameen, his friend, and the occupant of the other vehicle are all safe,” she said.The singer also urged media organisations to verify details with the family before reporting on incidents involving celebrities.“We kindly request that news reports verify the facts and, wherever possible, clarify the details with the family before reporting,” she said, adding that inaccurate reports can cause “unnecessary worry and distress” during such situations.

What happened to AR Ameen in Chennai?
According to a report by IANS, Ameen was travelling with a friend towards Guindy along Jawaharlal Nehru Road when the accident occurred at around 3.30 am on Monday. Their vehicle collided with a cab near the Olympia Tech Park area.Ameen and his friend reportedly sustained minor injuries and were taken to a private hospital for medical examination and treatment. Both were subsequently discharged and returned home.A passenger travelling in the cab was also injured and was taken to the Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital. The passenger received medical attention and was later discharged.There were no reports of life-threatening injuries among those involved in the collision.
Police investigating AR Ameen car accident
The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Police are examining how the vehicles collided and are expected to analyse CCTV footage from the area to reconstruct the sequence of events.Statements from the drivers and occupants of both vehicles are also expected to form part of the investigation.The accident took place on Jawaharlal Nehru Road, popularly known as the Inner Ring Road, a major arterial route connecting several parts of Chennai.
