Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ will bring to screen the story of Anjali Kulthe, a nurse at Mumbai’s Cama Hospital who helped save 20 pregnant women during the 26/11 terror attacks. The film revisits a lesser-known chapter from the night of November 26, 2008, when terrorists entered the hospital after attacking key locations in Mumbai, including CST railway station and the Taj Hotel.Anjali Kulthe’s 26/11 story inspires ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’India Today reported that Kulthe was on duty at Cama Hospital when reports came in that terrorists, who had attacked CST, were moving toward the hospital. What began as a routine shift soon turned into a fight to protect patients inside the building.According to the report, Kulthe heard gunshots and later saw terrorists enter the hospital premises after shooting security personnel. As panic spread, she acted quickly. She gathered 20 pregnant women from the ward and moved them into a small pantry.The lights were switched off, mobile phones were silenced, and the women stayed quiet in the dark while the attack continued outside. Kulthe did not leave her patients. She stayed with them and tried to keep them calm as danger moved through the hospital.How nurse Anjali Kulthe saved pregnant women during 26/11The crisis deepened when one high-risk patient, who had hypertension, went into labor during the siege. Doctors could not safely reach the ward because of the gunfire inside the hospital. Kulthe then took charge.She escorted the woman to the labor room, moving carefully up the stairs and staying close to the wall. By the next morning, the woman safely delivered a baby girl. Kulthe later said the child was named “Goli” as a reminder of the terrifying night around her birth.‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ features Kangana Ranaut as Kulthe and focuses on the courage shown by ordinary Indians during the 26/11 attacks. The film also arrives at a time when discussions around the attacks have returned after the extradition of 26/11 accused Tahawwur Rana.The attacks killed 166 people and left a deep mark on the country. ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ is slated to release on June 12.
