Veteran actor Nana Patekar died on Thursday, October 8, at the age of 75, leaving the film industry and his fans heartbroken. Among those paying tribute was Anil Kapoor, who shared an emotional post remembering his close friend and fellow actor.

Anil posted a photo with Nana and wrote, “Mera dost mujhe chhodkar chala gaya… pehle Satish aur ab mera Nanya. NANYA, tu achanak bohot jaldi chala gaya… Duniya ka sabse bada kalakaar, humein chhodkar hamesha-hamesha ke liye chala gaya. Bohot miss karunga tujhe, life mein, set par, phone par aur bade parde par… (My friend has left me… first Satish, and now my Nanya. Nanya, you left us so suddenly, far too soon… The greatest artist in the world has left us forever. I will miss you dearly—in life, on the sets, on the phone, and on the big screen).”The candid picture, captured from behind, shows the two actors holding hands on what appears to be a film set. The heartfelt moment beautifully reflects the warmth, camaraderie and deep friendship they shared.

How Nana Patekar passed away

Nana Patekar passed away at his home in Goa on Thursday morning after a cardiac arrest. He was found unresponsive after complaining of severe chest pain and was rushed to Manipal Hospital, where doctors tried to revive him. He was declared dead at around 5:20 am.

Nana Patekar’s final journey

His mortal remains were later flown from Goa to Pune. The actor was cremated at his farmhouse in Donje, Pune, with full state honours, including a ceremonial gun salute. Several celebs from Hindi and Marathi film industry attended the funeral in Pune.His death is a deep loss for Indian cinema, as his decades of work in Hindi and Marathi films leave behind a lasting legacy.
