Telugu star Nani has joined the makers of the upcoming Nithiin starrer ‘Alias Rukmini’ helmed by Murali Kanth Devasoth. Ahead of its theatrical worldwide release on December 4, 2026, ‘The Paradise’ actor shared the release date announcement and called the film the “most beautiful Telugu film of the year.”

Nani took to his X handle to write, “Probably the most beautiful Telugu film of the year. 🙂 Proudly presenting you #AliasRukmini on December 4th.”The makers have also promised to reveal more details about the film’s central character on October 13.Written and directed by Murali Kanth Devasoth, ‘Alias Rukmini’ makers announced the release date on social media with a cryptic message about Krishna’s love story.
Nithiin starrer ‘Alias Rukmini’ title glimpse
The makers released the title glimpse in August, introducing audiences to the film’s quirky premise. The video begins with a conversation between Nani and director Murali, who tells him that the story is about Krishna. As the visuals unfold, Nithiin is seen sleeping in a chair, with several books featuring sensual themes placed nearby.Nani then notices that the books appear to have been written by someone named Rukmini. When he questions the director, Nithiin wakes up and reveals that Rukmini is his wife. The exchange ends with Nani appreciating the story and asking when the team can begin shooting.Nithiin had also expressed confidence in the film, saying that the story was aimed straight at the hearts of audiences.
‘Alias Rukmini’ completes first schedule
The team completed the first shooting schedule in September. The 10-day schedule reportedly covered important scenes featuring Nithiin, Sai Kumar, Harsha Vardhan and other cast members.The technical team includes cinematographer Jomon T John, music composer Vijai Bulganin and editor Srujana Adusumilli. Rekha Boggarrapu is handling the costumes, while Ramana Madhavaram is the co-director.

Meanwhile, Nani was last seen in the action drama ‘The Paradise’ with ‘Dasara’ fame Srikanth Odela again at the director’s seat. The film, despite its splendid box office opening, took a hit in the next few days amid audience’s mixed feedback.After ‘The Paradise’, Nani will be working on his next action thriller with ‘They Call Him OG’ and ‘Saaho’ director Sujeeth. The upcoming film is named ‘Bloody Romeo’ and is currently in pre-production.
