According to figures updated by trade website Sacnilk at 10 pm on October 1, the film had generated Rs 51.44cr through advance bookings across six show dates. Without block seats, the figure stood at Rs 41.17cr. Friday, October 2, accounts for Rs 28.11cr of the total.
Earlier on October 1, the film had registered Rs 19.75cr in advance sales for its opening day by 10 am. More than 5.35 lakh tickets had been sold across over 12,000 shows at that point.
The three-day weekend advance booking figure had reached Rs 36.25cr gross, including block seats. Trade estimates are currently pointing towards a Rs 50cr-plus nett opening in India.
Maharashtra leads Day 1 advance bookings
Maharashtra has recorded the highest Day 1 advance booking figure at Rs 8.58cr. The state contributes 31% of the opening-day gross.
Delhi follows with Rs 6.10cr, while Gujarat has contributed Rs 2.08cr. Together, the top 10 states account for 88% of the Day 1 gross.
The National Capital Region leads the city-wise figures with Rs 6.10cr. Mumbai stands next at Rs 5.07cr, followed by Pune with Rs 2.14cr. The top 10 cities contribute 66% of the opening-day gross.
Evening shows record higher occupancy
Evening screenings are currently registering 26% occupancy across 2,920 shows. Night shows have recorded 20% occupancy across 4,871 shows.
Of the 14,734 Day 1 shows listed, 34 are sold out and 184 are almost full. More than half the seats remain available across 82% of the listed shows.
Hindi 2D screenings account for 99% of the Day 1 gross. The format has generated Rs 27.79cr from 14,667 shows.
Premium formats, including IMAX, 4DX, Dolby, ICE and EPIQ, contribute the remaining 1% of the gross.
Overseas bookings add to pre-release momentum
Across all six days currently open for advance booking, the film has sold 15.38 lakh tickets through 44,615 shows. Day 1 alone represents 55% of the total advance booking run.
The film has also crossed Rs 3cr in overseas pre-sales for its opening day. Weekend overseas advance bookings have crossed Rs 5cr.
‘Drishyam 3: The Conclusion’ is directed by Abhishek Pathak. The cast includes Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Jaideep Ahlawat, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor and Prakash Raj.
Shivaleeka Oberoi shares message for Abhishek Pathak
Ahead of the release, Shivaleeka Oberoi shared behind-the-scenes photographs from the film’s sets. She also posted a personal message for her husband, director Abhishek Pathak.
“I’ve seen the dream, the hard work, the sleepless nights and the heart behind it all. Tomorrow, the world gets to see what I’ve been lucky enough to witness. And if you’ve watched Drishyam, you already know..when it comes to family, my husband doesn’t play around. @abhishekpathakk #DrishyamTheConclusion #2ndOct,” Shivaleeka wrote.
The film brings Ajay Devgn back as Vijay Salgaonkar. It is positioned as the third and final instalment of the Hindi franchise and releases in theatres on October 2.
