Taking to her Instagram account, Parton’s beloved niece, Heidi, remembered her aunt in an emotional note. She posted a photo on her account of the two of them, holding onto one another and smiling big at the camera. Along with the photo, she also penned an emotional note in the caption that read, “It’s been 2 weeks today, and it still doesn’t feel real. This photo is from the day we filmed the video for ‘The Gift,’ which we use as the closing song in my show at @dollywood. I’m so grateful I have this and the video.”Her last post about the singer had been on August 27, in which she had penned a note sharing that she is doing what she can to honor Parton after her passing. She also thanked people for all the love and support that they have been sending to the ‘Jolene’ singer’s family, writing, “I’ve done several interviews to pay honor to her. I know that may sound strange to many, but Aunt Dolly found peace and solace in working when life got sad or tough, and I’ve discovered that’s how I cope as well.”
