Silambarasan confirms ‘Arasan’ will not release for Pongal 2027
Speaking at an event, Silambarasan confirmed that ‘Arasan’ will not hit theatres during Pongal 2027. The actor explained that the team could speed up the shoot and work towards a festival release, but doing so could affect the quality of the film. “We could fast-track the production and release it for Pongal, but that would be a major mistake,” Silambarasan said. He added, “Therefore, we have decided to take time and shoot the film properly.” The actor also assured fans that the additional time would help the team deliver a film that audiences could feel proud of. He further promised that ‘Arasan’ would have a strong impact when it finally reaches theatres.

While the wait for the complete film has become longer, fans will have something to look forward to this Diwali. Silambarasan revealed that ‘The World Of Arasan,’ a special video featuring footage shot for the film so far, will be screened exclusively in theatres. The video is expected to offer a closer look at Vetrimaaran’s world and give audiences a taste of what the team has been creating. Arasan also features Vijay Sethupathi, Andrea Jeremiah, Samuthirakani, Kishore and Ameer in important roles. The film is said to have evolved from a screenplay that Vetrimaaran had originally developed during discussions with Silambarasan for ‘Vada Chennai.’ The project later underwent major changes before taking its current shape.
