Suvinder Vicky, who won hearts as policeman Balbir Singh in ‘Kohrra’, has since taken on several bold and challenging roles. While his film ‘Satluj’ ran into a release ban, his other recent project, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, turned into a massive blockbuster. In a recent interview, the actor spoke about shooting his abuse-heavy scenes with Arjun Rampal and the responsibility filmmakers carry while handling sensitive content.
Suvinder Vicky on shooting abusive scenes
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, talking about his intense scenes involving expletives directed at Arjun Rampal’s character, Suvinder credited both director Aditya Dhar and the writing team. He said, “I’m lucky to work with great directors. In this, the credit goes to Aditya Dhar and to me also because I also gave my hundred per cent effort. Also, galiyon ka shrey hamare script writer ko bhi jayega, because I didn’t make any of those; that was all written in the script.”He also revealed he jokingly suggested playing a muted version of the role. He added, “I told Aditya that my whole dialogue will be a big beep; he should have instead made me play a mute character in the film because I am abusing so much. But he told me confidently that nothing will be cut.”Suvinder recalled that when he tried to improvise further, Dhar stepped in. The actor shared, “He said we will not go to mothers and sisters. It is also our responsibility to not hurt sentiments in films.”
Arjun Rampal’s reaction
During the same conversation, Suvinder Vicky shared that his equation with Arjun Rampal made things easier, since the two had earlier worked together on ‘Satluj’. He said, “When I warned him about my dialogues in the film, he told me, ‘It is part of life, camera ke samne faad de.'”
