Ryan Reynolds pulled off the ultimate Comic-Con surprise by blending into the crowd in full Deadpool costume.The actor on Sunday, shared a video of himself going about unnoticed at the fan festival, before making a surprise appearance during Marvel Studios’ Hall-H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).

The actor shared a behind-the-scenes video on social media showing himself roaming around the convention dressed in a new blue and grey suit, interacting with unsuspecting fans. Throughout the clip, the actor is seen posing for selfies, appearing in fan videos and casually mingling with attendees and fellow Deadpool fans.Sharing the video with the soundtrack ‘Time of Your Life’, he penned a caption that read, “The fans got Deadpool off the ground so many years ago. Yesterday, 10 years after the first film and exactly 2 years after Deadpool & Wolverine, I felt so lucky to be on the #SDCC floor with everyone whose unapologetic devotion brings so much joy to this world.”

Later that evening, Reynolds took the stage during Marvel Studios’ ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ panel in Hall H, joining an ensemble that included Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Russo Brothers and several other cast members. The presentation marked Marvel’s first major showcase for the highly anticipated crossover film, which will also bring the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.Although Marvel has yet to officially confirm whether Reynolds will reprise his role as Wade Wilson in ‘Doomsday’, the actor couldn’t resist poking fun at the secrecy surrounding the project and the possibility of getting him in a special appearance. “I see. So there’s no additional photography, no overages, maybe last-minute additions…?” he asked.

Reynolds last played Wade Wilson in 2024’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, which grossed more than USD 1.3 billion worldwide and went on to become the highest-grossing R-rated film.Earlier this year, Reynolds revealed during Today’s Sunday Sitdown Live that he had already begun writing his next Deadpool project. He has since repeatedly hinted that he is developing a different kind of Marvel film featuring Wade Wilson alongside characters from the X-Men universe.Meanwhile, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is slated to release in theatres on December 18.
